First cut for sports facility "Lauterer Höhe" in Coburg

On December 1, 2009 at 12.00 o'clock, more than 60 guests from politics, administrative, sports as well as numerous media representatives observed the first cut for the construction site "Lauterer Höhe".

Dipl. Eng. Peter Praum, managing director of Sport StadiaNet GmbH and the Mayor of Coburg, Norbert Kastner, welcomed the guests. Peter Praum: "The starting shot is fired. The new building sets yardsticks. It fulfills the strict criteria of "green buildings" and it will be an energetic flagship nationwide". Praum further said: "The Coburg city gets a futuristic, modern and translucent complex. The construction work will begin in January 2010, the contractually completion date is December 31, 2010". He thanked the Mayor, Norbert Kastner and his coworkers for co-operation, extensive planning and implementation and wished the work goes smoothly and accident-free.

Mayor Norbert Kastner is convinced that the facility represents an important step for the development of the "Sport City Coburg", increasing its attractiveness.
"We invest in the future. The location is well selected. The sports facility will harmoniously integrate itself into the landscape and will upgrade the northern part of Coburg. I am pleased the progress of the project becomes visible. All have invested much from the beginning", said Norbert Kastner.

Armed with spade he went to the symbolic first cut, which took place under the applause of numerous guests. There was also opportunity to see a model of the Sports facility "Lauterer Höhe" in the tent, which was shown by the ASP Architects from Stuttgart. Representatives of the General Contractor MBM AG were also present. The event ended with a hearty lunch.
