New community swimming pool for Simmerath

Düsseldorf. 02/25/2011. Sport StadiaNet GmbH received the contract for the construction of a community swimming pool by the City of Simmerath. The facility is designated for school sports and recreation.

Signing of the contract by Sport StadiaNet's Managing Director Michael U. Tockweiler and Simmerath's Mayor Karl-Heinz Hermanns.

The total cost of construction of the pool is below budget of 4 million Euros. Sports StadiaNet provides planning and construction services for the new swimming pool and the facility management.

The Sport StadiaNet Group draws on own companies. Peter Holthausen GmbH & Co. KG will be the General Contractor and it is planned to assign the facility management to FCI Facility Concept GmbH.

The architects Geising Böker from Hamburg provide the architectural design, which will continue to carry out detailed planning and execution.

Mayor Karl-Heinz Hermanns, "I am pleased that the community of Simmerath found an experienced and competent partner who is able to build with a budget of 4 million Euros a community swimming pool, which will provide best conditions for school sports, club sports and the use of our citizens and visitors."

Sport StadiaNet's Managing Director Michael U. Tockweiler: "The completion of the construction project is scheduled for August 2012. We will build a "little gem" under the requirements in Simmerath. The site in the southwest and in the close vicinity to the school was perfectly chosen. The construction of the swimming pool in Simmerath is another step in our sustained growth strategy. We see the construction of sports facilities as one of our core tasks. We would like to engage local firms in the implementation of the project."

"Our negotiations with the municipality Simmerath have been very intensive. We are pleased that we can build this great project for Simmerath. We have placed special emphasis on access for the disabled. Disabled visitors can directly access the swimming pool, "said Knut Mayer, commercial director of Sport StadiaNet GmbH.

MASTER PLAN
The site for the new community pool is located at Walter-Bachmann-Street, close to the school center and the sports facilities of the municipality. The single-storey building blends in to the urban planning, including the flat roof. The development starts from Walter-Bach-Street with a forecourt, adjacent to the existing parking lot. Additional parking is close to the school; bicycles can be set aside near the main entrance. The entrance for staff and the delivery is on the northeast side.
The pool has a length of 25.00 meters x 10.00 meters and satisfies the DSV-competition policies. The water depth is 1.80 m. Four lanes are planned. The training pool is 12.50 meters x 6.00 meters with a water depth of 0.80 m to 1.20 m. An infant area with cots for the parents is in between. The water surface of the basin is 25 square meters.

There is sufficient visual contact between all three spatially separated areas. This is not of noise reasons, but it is a considerable advantage from an energetic point of view and for the functionality of the bath. The three areas can be operated at different temperatures.

HOUSING TECHNOLOGY
The development with all necessary media, including long-distance heating
takes place over a short distance from the road to a dedicated room for the building technology. The ventilation system has a heat recovery. All components of the technology are energy efficient and designed to reduce energy consumption to a minimum.

MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
The supporting structure is made of reinforced concrete. The pool, the basement including the cellar ceiling will be built in reinforced concrete as a "bath tub". As a thermal insulation a composite wall cladding system is planned. The structure of the flat roof is made from wood in pre-built construction with a bituminous seal.
